Sun Kangni was born in 1992. She began learning Guqin with prof. Li Xiangting when she was 9, and in 2005 she entered the Middle school affiliated to Central Conservatory of Music, where her major was Traditional Chinese music, Guqin. In 2011, she was admitted to the Traditional Instruments Department of Central Conservatory of Music upon recommendation, and continued to learn Guqin under the guidance of Prof. Li. In 2015, she graduated from CCOM as a Bachelor, and passed with merit the entrance exam to become a master student, and later that same year, she began the new semester as a master student and continued to learn Guqin under the guidance of Prof.Li Fengyun. During 2015, she was appointed by Hanban/Music Confucius Institute at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen as a Guqin intern teacher. Because of her professional attitude and outstanding achievement, she is the first intern teacher in the Danish MCI to be appointed two work terms instead of one. In 2015 she got 1st price in the annual Master entrance degree scholarship, in 2011 she won the 2nd price in the Dunhuang Cup Competition, and in 2006 she won the 1st price in the Jinhe Cup Competition in Macao.
