Tamar Midelashvili is a georgian pianist born in 1993 in a musicians’ family. She has successfully completed her bachelor's degree with Alexander Garber at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi (Georgia) and 2 master performance at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) by prof. Hans-Jürg Strub. She won international prizes: in 2010 the 1st prize and the special prize at the Sergei Rachmaninov International Piano Competition in Frankfurt a.M., Germany; 2012 2nd prize and press prize at the International Piano Competition in Enschede, Netherlands; 2017 2nd prize at the Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria; In 2019 she won the 2nd prize at the Duttweiler Hug Competition in Zurich, etc. Tamar played S. Rachmaninov’s 2nd piano concerto in Victoria Hall (Geneva) on 18th of October and she’s invited to have a solo recital in Lilienberg. Tamar got important impulses from Arie Vardi, Choong-mo Kang, Elisso Virsaladze and Christian Zacharias. She got scholarships from the foundations Derecha, Elsy Meyer und Freundeskreis. She had many appearances as a soloist, with orchestra, with chamber music and also with jazz band (piano/drums) in Georgia and also in Europe. Except piano, Tamar’s been playing also different instruments and music genres - organ and drums (jazz/pop). She’s successfully finished Organ as a secondary subject with Prof. Andreas Jost in ZHdK.
