Description: Two pianists from Tbilisi have uploaded to Music Passion. Tamar Midelashvili is a georgian pianist born in 1993 in a musicians’ family. She has successfully completed her bachelor's degree with Alexander Garber at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi (Georgia) and 2 master performance at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) by prof. Hans-Jürg Strub. She won international prizes: in 2010 the 1st prize and the special prize at the Sergei Rachmaninov International Piano Competition in Frankfurt a.M., Germany; 2012 2nd prize and press prize at the International Piano Competition in Enschede, Netherlands; 2017 2nd prize at the Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria; In 2019 she won the 2nd prize at the Duttweiler Hug Competition in Zurich, etc. Tamar played S. Rachmaninov’s 2nd piano concerto in Victoria Hall (Geneva) on 18th of October and she’s invited to have a solo recital in Lilienberg. Tamar got important impulses from Arie Vardi, Choong-mo Kang, Elisso Virsaladze and Christian Zacharias. She got scholarships from the foundations Derecha, Elsy Meyer und Freundeskreis. She had many appearances as a soloist, with orchestra, with chamber music and also with jazz band (piano/drums) in Georgia and also in Europe. Except piano, Tamar’s been playing also different instruments and music genres - organ and drums (jazz/pop). She’s successfully finished Organ as a secondary subject with Prof. Andreas Jost in ZHdK. ... Ani Palavandishvili is a Georgian pianist from Tbilisi, born in 1994. She started playing piano in her early childhood and was enrolled at the experimental music school of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire at the age of six where she has been actively performing in annual academic concerts. At the age of 10 she already held her first piano recital and when she was 14 she performed Beethoven piano concerto No1 in the Tbilisi Conservatoire with the conductor Giorgi Jordania. Starting from 2009 Ani joined the Musical Seminary under the supervision of Professor Svetlana Korsantia. While being a student of the Seminary, she has participated in a number of prestigious festivals and national competitions where she has received diplomas and a special prize for her outstanding performance such as in ‘We Play Music’, ‘Find Your Star’ and the 2nd National Piano Competition. In 2012 Ani was successfully accepted at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire with a full scholarship of the Georgian government. Since then she has been invited to different national and international masterclasses led by pianists such as Eliso Virsaladze, Alexandre Korsantia, Eter Anjaparidze in Tbilisi, Hans Jung Sthrub in Munich and Epifanio Comis in Sicily (Catania, Palermo, Noto). After graduating her bachelor studies, Ani received a full scholarship to continue her musical education in the master progarmme at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. As a master student she has been awarded stipendium of the Mayor of Tbilisi multiple times for her academic achievements. Ani is a recipient of a grand-prix at the 6th state festival-competition “Find Your Star” in 2013. In 2018 she became the finalist of the ‘Tengiz Amirejibi’ International Piano Competition and in the same year she has held her solo recital in the Conservatoire. Ani has been recently invited to the master classes of professor Eteri Andjaparidze in NewYork. Currently she is a music teacher at the ‘Georgian Piano Academy’ established by the official representation of ‘Steinway and Sons’ in Georgia and teaches piano as well as theory and history of music. Ani also plays as an accompanist and performs as a solo pianist at concerts.
